Model 12 - Sasquatch Bowie with Stacked Leather

Model 12 - Sasquatch Bowie with Stacked Leather - 04/17/21 07:36 PM

I have a chance to buy the knife mentioned in the title.

It is 11 inches long blade and it is numbered 076

The seller is asking $1,200.

Condition is mint and sheath is older without "Randall" on the clasp.

Is that a fair price?

Thank you.

That's basically a two-option knife, right?

("dealer grind" and brass butt cap)

Thanks for posting a photo. Nothing special about that Randall as far as I am concerned. It looks like about a late 80’s Knife and for me they are asking too much.

Rob,
Etching is chargeable also...

James,
I'm not Doug Kenefick and I cannot address his charges..."BUT"...(aaahhhh: I feel better already)...I have been told that the Large Sasquatch is based on the Smitty, which comes "standard" with your choice of a brass, forward curved or a brass lugged double hilt.
Best, Capt. Chris

The Large Sasquatch blades are numbered in sequence. Any other etching is a chargeable option.

Some collectors like to buy the Large and the Small made up to match, and have the Small numbered the same as the Large.

We do not have this visibility.

Some assumptions (could be wrong):
a) sequence numbering is dealer-managed
b) shop charges dealer for sequence-number etching
c) dealer includes that cost in the "base price" for their grind

I've been wrong before, so take it as a thinking point and not solid fact.

Yup, I have a pair as you described. Not quite "numbered the same" as user-requested numbering happens on the "down" side of the blade.

Thank you for your answers, I will pass on the knife.

Rob--

Doug told me that all the Large Sasquatch blades are numbered sequentially. Automatically done.

If he and the shop changed that, so be it.

For my part, I have kept thinking that the Large might be done in Stainless some day, but not done so far.
