Picked this up on ebay the other day, still waiting for it. Any idea of the age? I'm guessing early 60s but I'm not a expert.

This knife/sheath combo was available from the mid 1970's until the early 1980's when all 5 spacers became the same width.
Hope this helps, Capt. Chris

Randall often used a three thick and two thin spacer arrangement on non-leather handles during the seven spacer era on smaller knives made from 3/16" stock. It can be difficult to some degree to "date" some of these as they can go either way, from late 60's to mid 70's.

By say 1977-78, RMK went to a thick center spacer arrangement on both leather and non-leather that lasted to around 1984 when the switch was made to all thin spacers.

What about the blade profile? It looks different...Assuming it has been overly sharpened?

Also.. im in the Orlando area atleast once a year. How well could they refinish this knife if I dropped it off, assuming the pitting is not to deep.

I'm just wondering if its worth it. Is that blade a older profile or just one that has been over sharpened to heck?

Point dropped by someone who can't hone straight...glad to see that it's been a good user!
