Red Micarta

Red Micarta - 10/31/19 12:09 PM

I have observed RMK's red micarta color can be as different in shade as the knives themselves are from being custom made. The 3 Pictured red micarta knives display 3 different shades. I like the deep dark red
found on the #23, the lighter full red found on the #12 as well as the light red found on the the JC Special. Has anyone heard of the red micarta separating or splitting? Does sunlight darken red micarta as it did the westinghouse micarta?

Actually you have Maroon micarta on the 23 and red micarta on the model 10. Two different colors, not shades are offered by the shop and red is only offered on the model 10 at this time I think. Although there is some shade differences sometimes between shipments and age. oldguy

I am fond of red micarta. The best I have found came from Jim Behring. It's been a long time since I bought from Jim. I don't know if there is any more available.
