Cleaning session - 08/19/19 04:15 AM

Here are some pics from my little cleaning session yesterday....

For the nickel silver and brass fittings I use Puma metal polish. For the handles I use Ren-Wax. For the blades I use Sinensis camellia oil.

I love that Renaissance wax! I use Simichrome polish on any brass then I use the Renaissance wax on the entire knife. I put it on the blade and the handle then a light coat on the leather sheath as well. Seems to keep the sheath from drying out as well as giving it a bit of water protection on my user Randall's.

I have good experiences with the german Ballistol Oil for the entire knife.

Hi Boys and Girls
Happy New Year
maybe we will see things better in 2020
was wondering how this is for cleaning
says stainless, brass chrome & aluminum
but no to knives, forks, eating utensils and pots or pans

Barkeepers Friend products are the best.
Clean all your SS pot-n-pans without any harmful scratches. It's an amazing product, lots of great uses.

The January/February 2020 issue of American Handgunner has an article "Baby Oil and Easy Bake Ovens," pages 58-59, about preserving knives and pistol grips.

Some useful information, some we already knew, but pulls lots of it together in one place.

For my dealings, PUMA's the best of the bunch but hard to find in the U.S.A.! I buy it outta' Germany.
Stay sharp, Capt. Chris
PS: Ren Wax is outstanding for preservation as well...CCS
