Dave Griffin Single Finger Grip - 07/01/19 10:16 PM

Hello all,
I’ve heard that former shop foreman Dave Griffin came up with the single finger grip, and some folks can tell which ones he made. Are they very different than what’s available today? Do you folks have any photos? Are they worth a premium?
Thanks,
Brad

My contribution, just shot and of not the greatest quality...but I hope ya'll get the point. I must say that I have not noticed any huge difference in "Griffin" drop point handle shapes and the SFG handle shapes of today, except to note that, over the decades, "most" Randall Made Knives, both blade length and handle size, have gotten a small percentage larger.
Below:
Bottom: Early Stanaback Special-4" in "Old Yeller" with one of David's handles.
Next up: A Griffin Drop Point Hunter (I think I got this from Mitchell a few years ago) *Notice the "DP" on the back of the Johnson pouch sheath.
Top: Dave's later work, after he left RMK, also in "Old Yeller"
and in a Byrd sheath.
Hope this helps, Capt. Chris
