Looks like something out of the Stidham catalog, but I don't have a copy available.

Any info appreciated.

I didn't see it Miles.

Here is a link to it: http://www.randallmadeknife.com/1991-green-catalog-crider-collection/

Interesting knife with scales and exposed tang.

I have never seen one Miles. If it were a "kit" (which I don't think it was) the tang would not be that wide. Seperate "S" & a unique hilt-n-handle combination for sure. Is the blade 4 or 5 inches long?
Nice, Capt. Chris

Re: Oddball Consignment Knife, Need Info. - 09/14/17 10:41 AM

it's a 4" blade. The slabs look like the metal material used on the early model 10's, the guard / blade with solder just like RMK would have done it.

Miles,
I've been slammed today, listing knives (so my customers still know I'm alive) and dealing with a bitch named "Irma".
Question: Will $1200.00 buy it?
Please advise, thanks.

Cool knife Miles, and apparently a rare one if you, Capt. Chris and Mitchell haven't seen one quite like it before.

Is that a "2 4" stamped on the back of the sheath below the clip?

Are the handle pins brass?

Hey Cap't.

That's too much, just give me a call and we can work out the right price.

Hope things are working out after Irma...

Thank you,

Miles

I have found that most if not all the people that I have dealt with, in regards to Randall Knives, are stand up guys. I think it is Bo Randall's legacy.

Miles is a fair and honest seller of Randall knives old and new.

Re: Oddball Consignment Knife, Need Info. - 09/15/17 04:26 PM

Gents,

Thanks for the compliments. So there's the story I just remembered...

I was down in Tulsa about 4 years ago, stopped to talk to a guy behind his table with some RMK's for sale. I was just walking isles incognito, he didn't know who I was or anything. An early 11 caught my eye, so I asked him "hey, what'll you take for that one?" He says he's firm on price and that the knife was 'all original'. I said, "eh, looks like it's been shop cleaned to me"... trying to yank his chain a little and get him down on price. (it was a killer model 11!)

So he says..."well, I bought that knife from a guy named Miles in California and he said the finish was legit and original. Both of you can't be right."

Naturally, my butt puckered up a bit at hearing him mention my name, it took everything I had not to bust up laughing.

So my buddy I was walking isles with overheard the whole thing, looked over my shoulder and asked the seller "do you mean Miles Welze... that Miles?".

Reply: "yes, that's the guy"

My buddy's reply: "yeah, that Miles... he's a real asshole".... shakes his head...then he walks off down the isle.

Needless to say, I made him buy dinner that night.

Nah, I didn't know what to say at that point so I just shut up and moved on.

After giving Capt. a hand today I was able to open this bad boy up!
Took about 20 minutes cause Miles packages stuff like he's sending it to the moon... which is NOT at all a bad thing! crazy

A W E S O M E.... absolutely awesome knife. This knife is what should be considered Randall lore.

way cool find Miles and a very nice pick up for the Captain.

Today is probably the last time it will see the light of day so I am extremely grateful I got to see it in hand before going deep...deeeep... DEEEEEEEEP into the stash. grin

Nice!! It's a cool one... I have so much fun checking out neat stuff as it comes and goes. So many kit knives, so little time. smile

I know my packing tends to be a test of ones patience, better that than arriving with the tip through the end of the box. Better safe than sorry!

COMPLETELY agreed Miles.. by both Myself and the Captain.

It's "NOT" a kit knife Chief! Just Miles attempt at humor!! I am quite happy to own it.
Best, Capt. Chris

I know it's not.
I'm hijacking the thread since you bought the knife & it's done.
I'm asking a Question that has nothing to do with your knife lol!

James
Cave divers use a trail rope to find there way back out of a underwater cave.
You might need the same thing to find your way out of the "Stash".
Good luck

Whenever somebody mentions the captain's stash, I always picture the warehouse scene from the end of Raiders of the lost ark.
