It's a vintage jeweler's 6 pound anvil, probably around the same vintage as the knife itself.....bought it on ebay.

Well, the previous owner kept it sheathed in an old 3-6 RBJ. He took pleasure in the surprise, on the faces of the curious, when they popped the BabyDot and withdrew the old blade -er, stub. I was curious -a good laugh was had between friends.
