Anyway...my good buddy finally got the crocodile he collected a few years back turned into whatever he(and his wife) wanted, and there are several "out takes"...I'm not up on sheath making, BUT I thought there just may be a chance to make something out of this...WARREN you the sheath guy....this piece runs between 2" and almost 3" wide...there are other "scraps"...any hopes...is it even worth it???

Rocky,

No idea what happened to your friend. I'm not your leather expert but it looks suspicious.

Looks like your friend got screwed on tanning a gator. Doesn't look like any gator I ever saw.

Good eye Pappy...it not alligator...it's crocodile...no screwing that I was thinking of, it's just a scrap piece, left over from making her pocketbook, his belt, and other stuff...I was only asking if anyone had supplied leather to the two, or three prominent sheath makers that seem to show up on this web site

A rifle sling comes to mind.

Also an insert in a sheath. Mudbone could work something up for you.

has anyone supplied their own material??
Warren...now that you mentioned it, it does have that characteristic, however that's not for me
Thanks

Rocky,
I agree with Pappy. Mudbone could do some very nice work with that.
