My wife and I spent the month of February in Ecuador. We had two weeks in Quito, then 5 days in Cuenca followed by 8 days in the Galapagos.
Here are a few of my mediocre pictures. My wife is the "real" photographer.
The first picture is of Cotapaxi Volcano. We had climbed to 16,000' ASL, on the other side of the volcano a few days before. The top is over 19,000 ASL. When we got closer in the airplane, we could actually smell sulfur for a few minutes.
The second picture is of a land iguana on the Galapagos.
Lastly a nazca or masked boobie.

A few more:

A land tortoise. The highlight for me of the trip was seeing these.
My wife, Denyse, on a lava field.
A male frigate bird.
Beautiful butterfly.

Rod,

Great trip; wildlife in foreign places are an opportunity to find unique and colorful animals.

Good that you could spend a month together exploring and hiking the mountains and Galapagos.

Thank you everyone for the comments. It was a great trip. I even made it through 2 weeks in Spanish school in Quito. My wife's pics are much better than mine. We had a few underwater photos, until the camera sprung a leak. Goodbye pics.

If anyone is thinking of going to the Galapagos, go asap. There is talk of limiting the number of people the islands can take per year as visitors.

Next trip, the Trans Siberian Railroad, hopefully early summer of 2019.
