As the Cap requested!

One of the rare Starflite Throwing Devices!
Write-up by Rhett Stidham

Bo Randall personally designed the Starflite in 1972. The Starflite was sold by catalog insert and was listed at $85.00 in 1972. An efficient six pointed throwing device that will pierce its target on every good throw. The collapsible feature permits deeper penetration of the striking blade: also enables complete folding for carrying. It is also an effective instrument for hand held protection.

Dimensions are: -- 1. 3/16" X 1" X 15" double pointed blade: 2. 3/16" X 1" X 11" double pointed blades, affixed with a flat headed stainless steel bolt, silver soldered in place and wing nut. Weight 1-1/4 lbs. Fully polished. Comes with a special belt carrying case of oil tanned leather. Price $85.00".

The Starflite did not sell well and the 1978 catalog was probably the last offering. Only 36 Starflites were sold to the public. Somewhere between 5 and 10 were made for Bo since he loved to throw a knife and this was one of his favorites.

This was Bo Randall's last design of a throwing knife. He had been interested in knife throwing for many years. Bo made throwing knives as early as 1938 and 1939.

Capt brought one to Tulsa one year.

The points were needle sharp, you had to be rather careful handling it.

It was certainly an attention-getter, especially among the young adult generation and younger. Many a kid yanked their father to a stop to point at the Starflight.
