The replacement Model 15 CDT arrived today. One month and 2 days from the day I received a letter from them alerting me to the fact they received my broken knife. Talk about fantastic turn around time. Wow!

This one is stunning. I could not be happier. Carbon steel and Nickel. I could not even wait to clean up the blade before taking the pictures with my phone. It is now cleaned up (removing the grease) and looks even better.

I could not be more thrilled. I've already softened the edges on the guard a little so it feels comfy when I choke up. This is the Randall I've been dreaming about for so long. Perfect. Great balance, beautiful and definately functional. Cuts like a champ. First thing I did after taking a few quick photos was to put a scratch on it so it could never be considered new. That way I am free to enjoy and relax. Whew!

Really, if you are looking for something between a 5-6 and a 5-5, with just a little more beef, this is the ticket.

If only they had brown micarta like Tony's knife, I would have gone for that, but that piece of Micarta is clearly customer supplied.
