Hopefully Scott will see this

I have several ivorite Randall knives, one is a CC purchased August 2010 and another is a large Gambler just purchased.
The CC isn't as white and has no discernible grain while the Gambler is whiter and appears to have a grain like a micarta
So my question has Randall switch materials or vendors for the ivorite material in that time frame.
I have no complaints, but noticed a difference and am curious
Thanks in advance

Peter

Eric had a couple up a few weeks ago with some form of ivorite?
They had really nice grain.

I don't think his were Ivorite. I think resin ivory with lines. Sure looks like a nice handle material to me though.

Peter, we still order the Ivorite from the same company...it has changed over the years with some variations working better than others...some had "specks" of dirt we deemed unacceptable, others simply had cracks or lines that rendered the materials useless for our applications...

That being said, I'm not sure the top one is Ivorite...looks more like Alternate Ivory, but w/o having it hand I couldn't say for sure...

Thanks Scott

The top one was order from Gary Clinton as ivorite, I don't think he supplied the material, I believe it was the shop ivorite, but these two knives were made about 11 years from each other

Aaron, that was resin ivory supplied by Dave Warther. Not from the Shop.

Maybe the light has darkened it over the last 11 years.

Never was anything better than the Westinghouse material.

We actually loved the AGM, but it was discontinued after a short run...

since were on this what is this 14? I took the photo with a headlamp that makes it look more yellow than it is. pictured with ivory 12-8 so you can get a better idea of color. I am terrible at taking photos
