I have 2 Herron boot knives, mint, with mint scabbards, consecutive numbers, one in Pink Ivory and the other in Rosewood...order slip from George, later letter explaining the 4 year delivery wait, mint 1st color catalog by Art Carter and a letter from me about the trip Art and I made to Aiken long ago so I could meet George and get a pretty little trout and bird knife like Art had. Is a package with these components all together of any more value to a collector than just selling the knives, catalog separately? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks....Kent Nickerson, Leesville, SC

Kent,
if it was me, I'd try to keep them together. The fact that they are consecutively numbered and I am assuming the sales slip includes both knives. This plus the catalog makes a pretty nice kicker collection for a new or avid Herron enthusiast.
The only draw back is the total price tag. Not as many will be able to afford the whole package as could buy an individual knife.

Good Luck,
Jay Mealing

Jay, I tried to contact you via an older posting (elsewhere) but the address for you was no longer current. So, I'll chase you down here, if this works. I have a Herron Fighting Bowie that might interest you, numbered 221. Shoot sharp, Ol' Whitehair Mike
