Hi Bandogge,... and welcome to the Forum !
This is one of Bobīs older models, model M12 “ATHENA”, built in his old shop in Santa Fe, NM. There were two versions available of this model, 4.5” and 5.75” blade length. Although Bob offered various steels for his fixed blades at that time such as 01, 154cm and 440c, it was D2 that was used for the fixed knives unless customers specified another steel -since Bob thought that D2 most closely suits the need of a working knife.

This model was equipped whith a custom molded, self-locking sheath of kydex which Bob started to offer from 1983, quite a novelty in sheath materials then. The other side of the kydex sheath should show a small inset coin with the dragon head of Etzīnab (Maya god of edged weapons).

Serial registration numbers started with 101-A in 1980, with subsequent years represented by the following letters.

Overall: a very nice and quite rare piece from Bobīs earlier knifemaking days.
