Hey Guido, I can not speak to the Kimber, but for the money, I have enjoyed owning and shooting the Ruger LCP. It's my "go to" concealed carry firearm. I've put hundreds of rounds through it without malfunction. The slide to chamber a round can be tight when you first purchase the gun but will become easier with use. Due to its small frame you may need to adjust your grip to avoid shooting low. Although the crimson trace laser may add a few "cool points," I found that it was not worth the bulk it added to the trigger guard. Happy Birthday, Jay
