I went to Louisiana Tec from 1963-68 and Phil Robertson was the main quaterback for Tech until he graduated just before Terry Bradshaw came into fame. Phil didn't look like he does today back in 1966-67, but he was always late for class, he was duck hunting. When I get back to Idaho later this summer, I will take a picture of the Tech annual with Phil and Bradshaw together in the same picture. You won't believe what the two of them looked like.

Hey Tony,

I have some buddies up here that grew up with Tim Horton's and Cowboy coffee. I had one of them fill a travel mug with espresso once (he only ever did that once). He was bouncing off the roof of the truck all the way to the Peace Country (9 hour drive).

Cheers,

Happy Birthday, Tony!!!
AND, blessings to your wife on Mothers' Day; You've posted pics. so my God, what she must have tolerated in the LaPetri household over the years.
AND....come to think of it.....my own blushing bride of a few decades MIGHT have learned increased patience and tolerance in this humble abode as well.
GOD bless all these lovely ladies and our own Moms as well today.
And again....HAPPY BIRTHDAY TONY!!!!!

OK, here's a picture of Phil Roberston along with Terry Bradshaw, taken in fall 1967. Bradshaw is easy to find, but can you spot Phil Robertson, the big daddy of Duck Dynasty. The second picture is Terry Bradshaw's autograph. Who would have thought that Phil Robertson would make it so big. This is his only picture in the Louisiana Tech yearbook. He was probably duck hunting when the other pictures were taken.

OK, you got my attention. Bradshaw no doubt. Mickey Slaughter, the coach in the picture was a quaterback for the old Houston Oilers, so who is the 3rd? Phil never took the bait to tryout for the NFL, too busy hunting, so who is it?

BTW, you see how skinny Bradshaw is in that picture? This was his sophamore picture. Slaughter took Bradshaw to his cattle ranch the summer before his junior year and after Phil graduated. Slaughter worked Bradshaw all summer and made him throw every day from his knees. Made him workout with weights and run backwards all summer. Bradshaw went from 185 to 220 and a monster Q-back. No one recognized him that fall and the rest is history. If you ever watch films of Bradshaw throwing, he never set his feet, he just throws, just like when he was on his knees. Bradshaw should be paying Mickey Slaughter 15% of everything he made for all these years; Mickey Slaughter took a piece of coal and made a diamond.

I think you are right, Tommy Spinks was drafted but did not play.
Spinks was Bradshaw's go-to guy in college.

Spinks and Liberto who are in the picture where drafted but either did not play or something happened. They were drafted by the Vikings and Steelers. They both were good players. Oldguy
