Thanks everybody. It is brown canvas micarta that I bought of ebay Capt. It has more of a gold color to it than brown though. I'll try and take better pictures of it when done. I like this material a lot and have a few more blocks of it. I am going to use one on a large damascus camp knife for somebody.

Finished up. Here is a camp knife made of 5160 steel that has been forged and ground to its final shape. The blade is 6 3/4" and 11.5" overall. The brass furniture goes good with the black and brown micarta spacer. The handle is a black & gray parkawood shaped in a BPH design with brass pin and wrist thong. Hope you guy's like it.

Jimmy,
You improved your skills so much, both in steel and leather.
Your last two knives are very balanced...style wise...and with a very good look.
Together with its sheath...a perfect combination.
Now you have to work on your brand stamp to achieve 100++ in my very personal list of
appreciation.
Good work anyway.
Bravo!
Best
Guido

Thanks Guido, your right about the stamp. You only get one shot at it. Now that I have a smaller stamp things should improve. I will use the larger stamp on my sheaths.

Got some time to start a couple new projects. The first is a 11.5" fighting style knife. It will have a brown BPH with brass rivets. I am not sure how practical it is, but dam it's going to be cool. The second is going to be a damascus camp knife with an 8" blade. Have not decided on the handle yet. Probably will be brown micarta with brass and black spacers.

Everything goes wrong! For some reason when I quenched this blade it put a small wave on the edge. You can see in one of the photos were I hammered it almost straight. Becuase I screwed up the blade I decided to try some new things. This was my first attempt at a SFG handle and I profiled down to far exposing the tang. I also peened the brass pin a little to much resulting in a hair line crack in the pakka wood. I have decided to keep this one and make it a test knife. I will test its performance and reliability this upcoming camping season.

Thanks everybody, I enjoy making these small knives for some reason.
Peter the hilt is from the same damascus as the blade.
I have been busy the last couple days and here are some small skinners in progress. They are made from old files. The 3 skinners are for a local gun store my buddy opened up in Keystone, Fl. He wanted some knives in the $100.00 to 125.00 dollar price range.

Thanks again everybody! Here is a Damascus Fighter with a 6" blade that I finished up today. It is the first nickel silver double hilt that I've done. The handle is lignum vitae with a brass pin. The spacers are black, green and a thick aluminum one in the center. It turned out awesome. I plan on going to see the Captain this Saturday at the Orlando show. I am going to have it with me if anybody is interested in seeing it. Again everybody, thanks for your comments.

Computers been down for a while, but I'am back. Here are some pictures of a couple of knives I'am working on. I got with the Captain about donating a knife for auction to help generate some funds to support the troops. The little unfinished knife will be it. I'll keep pictures coming with it's progress.

One of you guys are going to be very happy. This thing turned out bad a$$. Overall length is 7" and the blade is 4.75". Black micarta scales with SF green liners. The steel is from an old file. When the guys at work see this the orders are going to go through the roof. I'am thinking some kind of clip on concealment sheath. This is the second knife I have put my Master Blaster stamp on. Shipping it off to Captain once it's done. Hope you guys like it and it should generate some good cash flow for the club.

You can consider mine your first order, Jimmy! Even before we spoke yesterday I knew this knife was gonna' be the bomb ticket! Hopefully, these good folks on this forum (especially the RKCC members) will fill up a 200 number raffle...more to come.
Great work and I can't thank you enough for what you do for the RKCC and RKCA. Everyone else has no idea just "how" much. Let me just give the rest of you folks a hint: I have "3" more of Mr. Bedgood's "items" for auction and door prizes at the Blade show annual meeting. Too generous, that's for sure. The rest of you good folks might remember that when you order a knife. I'm sure Jimmy will treat ya' right!
Stay sharp, Capt. Chris
PS: Jimmy: NASA handle material (yes...It'll be scraps) will be awaiting you at the Orlando show for a knife for me...and for you, of course...CCS

Duke,
I don't believe the sheath pictured was the first attempt. This one looks perfect to me. Jimmy should read these posts and let us know but I'm ready to receive this package!

Thanks Duke. This sheath stuff is not easy. This one looks good, butt has some tooling marks from my stitcher. Overall it looks pretty good. I'll destroy the first one for the clip and try again.

Here is my latest. 4.5",0-1 tool steel blade with mini brass double hilt. Brown micarta with green and black spacers. The handle is silver and black laminated wood with brass pin and wrist thong. Needs to be sharpened along with final sanding/polishing and set the snap on the sheath. Hopefully will finish up this week.

That is a great looking design. Is the top sharpened as well? I like the over all look of the knife.

Finishing up the fighter that I started before the blade show. It has a lignum vitae handle with green and brown canvas micarta spacers. the hilt is nickel silver and a brass pin. (OOPS)! I guess it needs to be thrown out. To deep into the JD causes problems like this. Hope you guys like it anyway.

Been out of the loop for a while and trying to get caught up. Just finished making me a camp knife for the upcoming season. The blade is 10.5" X 2" X .250". Black canvas micarta scales with yellow liners and brass drilled double hilt. I sand blasted and parkerized the entire knife. This thing is a beast.

This one is almost ready for it's new owner. I am not sure why I like making these larger knives, butt they sure are worth the trouble. It's going to be hard to turn this one loose.

Been busy trying to turn some jobs. Talked with a member of the club at Blade about making a "Okie" knife. Here is my attempt so far. Overall lenght of the knife is 13.25" with a 8" blade. Brass finger grip hilt with brown canvas micarta handle. Spacers are brown micarta, black fiber and aluminum. Butt cap is aluminum with thong hole and stainless nut. This thing is awesome! I plan to hold on to it and bring it to the Blade show this year. Hope you guy's like it.

I love that Okie, the original and yours Jimmy.

I was going to suggest a little curve on the other hilt, then I saw that the original had it already. I would do the next one that way if I were you.

Both my #1 daughter and I have been mighty pleased with owning/using one of those early model Whiskey Pete's. It pretty much lives on my Levi's on the weekend. Same for her except more often, 'cause she doesn't miss many days spending some time with all the work that involves horses. If I can make it work I'll post a pic. of the smile following her "Whiskey Pete birthday present" in June. Thanks again Jimmy; keep hammering them out!
