Anyone here a 870 gunsmith or armorer? I have a technical question for you.

Old Guy,
Go ahead and shoot (pun intended).

I was a police armorer for forty years and worked on them.

If it is about the newer production guns, within the past five years, their quality control has been terrible.

I will see if I can be of some help.

Oldguy,
I hope that my answer helps you out.
Big thing as that when you install a synthetic stock,it will settle somewhat in the receiver with use so you will have to recheck the bolt tightness for the first few boxes.

By then, everything will be settled in.

Old Guy,
I should have considered that there are two types of washers for the stock bolt. One has sharp "teeth" that should face towards the receiver so it can bite into the synthetic.

The other type which I assumed you had,are shallow much like fish scales and they should face the bolt head.

Sorry for any confusion on my part.
